Context The Australian pork industry would benefit greatly from further development of export markets across Asia, but due to the small size and cultural differences between Asia West, insight into research is required for premium product development. Aims Qualitatively assess value in Chinese consumer groups investigate perceived attitudes pork. Methods Qualitative multivariate analysis (QMA). Key results opinions products, meat offal, farming systems differed significantly. consumers desired expert opinion, traditional cuts with minimal packaging, small-scale production superior animal welfare. wanted clean, healthy versatile consistent quality, without concerns around Conclusions compatibility preferences show great promise holding eyes consumers, Implications Results offer future targeted domestic markets. Findings will also enable quantitative efforts be more specific.
